I was very glad this past week to have made a slight detour in one of my usual routines because I ran into someone who shared a wonderful story of how she had purchased Mindful Beauty Is In Your Hands for her daughters over the holidays.
She told me how they were now working through the recipes and it sounded like they (the daughters) were having a blast with it. Apparently they already loved to experiment and create with their own beauty recipes with much the same sort of food-based ingredients that I use in the book (eg. cucumber), and so mom thought why not step it up a notch and toss in a bit of science while they are having so much fun.
Mindful Beauty Is In Your Hands provided just the right blend of recipes and added ‘how it works’ information. For example, according to mom, the girls now know that strawberries contain salicylic acid (a beta-hydroxy acid that loosens dead skin cells and aids exfoliation). Sweet, huh?
She says the only drawback is that she has yet to participate in the “beauty workshops” at home as of yet! 🙂 Well, I certainly hope that she does soon and I am so grateful to her for sharing her story with me. It definitely made my day.

Mindful beauty finds ways to incorporate knowledge about beauty, health, and natural living into a unified idea that benefits the whole body… your body. You are unique and you are also connected to a larger group of people and we seek to honor both the uniqueness and the connections, recognizing that no one single solution/recipe/plan will work for any one person but that any of these can be shared and reworked through discussion and collaboration. We are a mindfully beautiful community!
